Based in Melbourne, The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity was the first laboratory outside China to successfully grow the virus.

We would also like to let you know that AAMRI is working on the following areas:

  • Development of a specific AAMRI COVID-19 Network with representatives from our members institutes to share resources, information and planning
  • Working with members to identify the range of practical issues the outbreak is having on research
  • Undertaking ongoing discussions with funding bodies to identify potential actions to reduce the impact on current and future research
  • Coordinating the sector’s needs and responding to requests to information from Government and other stakeholders.
