AAMRI Submission: Strengthening Australia’s cyber security regulations

As part of Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy 2020, the Australian Government is investigating how they can incentivise businesses to invest in cyber security, including through possible regulatory changes. A draft proposal and discussion paper was released for comment.

A number of the new policies considered may impact the medical research sector. For example:

  • governance standards for large businesses
  • minimum standards for personal information
  • responsible disclosure policies, and
  • health checks for small businesses.

Working with members, AAMRI has put forward a submission with sector-specific considerations and recommendations. A copy of the submission can be downloaded below.
