Responsible Conduct of Research – external panel members
AAMRI has compiled a database of external experts who are available to serve as expert panel members during an investigation. To help minimise any potential conflicts of interest when breaches of the Code are investigated, provision is made within the Code for investigations to be undertaken by external panel members.
Any research organisation undertaking an investigation into a breach of the Code can contact AAMRI (enquries@aamri.org.au) for contact details of potential external panel members.
All of AAMRI’s members follow appropriate guidelines with respect to undertaking medical research. These guidelines include
- Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
- NHMRC Policy on Actions to be Taken in Response to Research Misconduct involving NHMRC Funding
- National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research
- Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes
A revised version of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research was released in June 2018.
